Therapy Tailored For You

About Hands In OT
Helping people is our passion and we have a “hands in” approach to therapy. We are firm believers that the best results are seen when there is collaboration and partnership between patient, therapist and the multidisciplinary team. At Hands In OT, we understand that treatment is not “one-size fits all” based on a clinical diagnosis. We are all individuals and, as such, need treatment tailored, not only to our diagnosis, but who we are as individuals, our lifestyles, our needs and our goals.
With several years of experience in the field of hand therapy, lymphoedema and oncological rehabilitation, we use our clinical knowledge of sound assessment and treatment, passion, as well as understanding, to help our patients achieve their goals. We strive to keep up to date on the latest research and treatments available, to ensure we are current and offering the best treatments on hand to our patients.
Our rooms are located in the tranquility of Muldersdrift (near Garden World), however for your convinience we also offer home visits to surrounding areas.

We Offer The Following Occupational Therapy Services
“Occupational therapy is a client-centred health profession concerned with promoting health and well being through occupation. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. Occupational therapists achieve this outcome by working with people and communities to enhance their ability to engage in the occupations they want to, need to, or are expected to do, or by modifying the occupation or the environment to better support their occupational engagement.”
“Finding Gayle was just what the Dr ordered. I felt very comfortable as Gayle explained the massaging and leg taping that she was going to perform for the oedema that I was experiencing. Gayle is an absolute star and her willingness to treat me at home has been an absolute blessing. I recommend Gayle for her warm and friendly approach, her absolute professionalism and her dedication to ensuring you recover and rehabilitate back to full health.”
“While treating me for severe lymphoedema Gayle Seago has proved to be a highly competent, compassionate occupational therapist. Her treatment and support over six months has demonstrated genuine personal interest and care as well as encouragement. She is punctual, reliable and innovative. Her sincere drive to assist in the healing process is remarkable.”
“Gayle took the time to explain my x-rays in great detail, even showing me where the original fracture that had made surgery necessary had occurred over 3o years ago! The therapy sessions were always soothing and informative. Progress made in movement range and strength was recorded and compared every time, which motivated me to work consistently at rehabilitation my arm. The exercises Gayle gave me to do in my own time were practical and could be integrated into daily life realistically. Several weeks after surgery, I was worried about the pain in my wrist not subsiding as I had expected. Gayle took my concerns seriously and even conferred about this with the surgeon, which I appreciated very much. I received the doctor’s feedback from Gayle during a treatments session and so did not have to make an additional appointment with the doctor. Gayle afforded me a degree of personal flexibility as to how many sessions were required in the rehabilitation of my wrist and arm. When the pain began to subside, she offered me the option of increasing time between appointments, which I took up gladly to save time and money. I would definitely recommend Gayle Seago to anyone seeking an occupational therapist for the treatment of hand, wrist and arm issues.”
